How pricing works

The consultation is free

Every engagement starts with a conversation at no cost to understand what you are looking for. You get a written quote before any work begins.

Travel

Included within 30 miles of Blue Ridge. Beyond that, mileage is billed at the IRS standard rate.

Additional sites

Each extra site in the same area is billed at half the package price.

Nonprofits and churches

15% off every service for registered nonprofits and churches, including community groups, charities, and volunteer organizations.

Founding clients

Our first five clients receive reduced founding rates in exchange for feedback and permission to share an anonymized case study.

Payment

Half when you sign, half when your report is delivered. Retainers are billed monthly.

What we do not do

High Ground Risk Advisory is an advisory firm. We do not provide:

  • Security guards, patrols, or alarm response
  • Investigations or background checks on individuals
  • Legal advice, including on firearms policies
  • Equipment sales or installation

When you need one of these, we refer you to a licensed provider and take no fee for the referral.

Common questions

What happens during the free consultation?

We talk by phone or in person to get to know you, your site, and what you are looking for. Then we give you an estimate of what should be fixed and recommend the service that fits. There is no cost and no obligation.

Do you provide security guards?

No. High Ground Risk Advisory is advisory only. If your plan calls for guards at an event or site, we recommend how many and where, and refer you to licensed security companies.

How long does an assessment take?

A Quick Check report arrives within five business days of the visit. A Core Assessment takes about two weeks, and a Complete Security Plan takes three to four weeks, including the written plans.

Will you recommend specific products or vendors?

We describe what you need, such as a motion-sensor light or a door alarm, and the price range to expect. We do not sell equipment or take commissions, so you can buy from whoever you trust.

How do you keep our information confidential?

A security report describes weaknesses, so we treat it carefully. Reports are encrypted, shared only with the contacts you name, and site photos are deleted after the report is delivered.

Can you help us meet the federal emergency action plan requirement?

Yes. Federal workplace rules require a written emergency action plan once a workplace has more than 10 employees. The Complete Security Plan includes one written for your site.

Do you work outside Fannin County?

Yes. We work across Fannin, Gilmer, Union, and Pickens counties and travel anywhere in North Georgia. Travel beyond 30 miles of Blue Ridge is billed at the IRS mileage rate.

Do you work with cities and towns?

Yes. City safety planning is a core part of our work: downtown safety assessments, festival and event plans, emergency plans for city buildings, and tabletop exercises for city leadership. See City safety planning for details.

What is a safety plan binder?

A printed, tabbed binder kept on site with your emergency procedures, evacuation map, emergency contacts, and shutoff locations, so staff and guests can find the plan when it matters. It is a one-time purchase of $250 per location. Every page is dated, and a log page and update checklist show your team what to review, so you can keep it current yourself.

Why does a vacation rental need a safety plan?

Guests do not know the property, the roads, or where to go in a fire, flood, or storm. A written plan tells them who to call, when to leave, and where to go. It also shows you took reasonable care to protect them, which matters to insurers and if a claim is ever made. Our Evacuation Safety Plan covers all of this for each property. Ask your attorney or insurance agent how a plan affects your coverage.

Do nonprofits and churches get a discount?

Yes. Registered nonprofits and churches receive 15% off standard prices on every service, including assessments, event plans, and training.

Not sure which service fits?

Tell us about your site. We will get to know what you are looking for and estimate what it needs and what it would cost.
